Looking for a pie recipe that is quick, easy, and suitable for a party? Look no further, these Pumpkin Pie Roll-ups are a fun twist on a classic pie recipe that is great for a party (or just for snacking). Involving just five ingredients, Pumpkin Pie Roll-ups are sure to please without the hassle of traditional pie making. This is also a great recipe to make with little helpers; an assembly line always speeds up the process! Feel free to adjust the ingredients to suit your needs. Doubling the batch is simple, and almost a necessity as these delicious treats will fly off the plate as fast as you can make them. I used wheat bread, but the recipe could easily be adjusted to incorporate white bread, gluten free options, or even flavored bread!
- 1 cup Pumpkin Pie Filling can be canned or homemade
- 10 slices wheat bread
- 2 tbsp Cinnamon
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 stick butter either salted or unsalted
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees then mix together cinnamon and sugar for the coating blend, and set aside.
- Melt the butter, and set aside.
- Cut off crusts on the sliced bread. Use a rolling pin to flatten trimmed bread slices.
- Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of filling onto the middle of the bread slices then roll-up bread slice around filling.
- Carefully roll through melted butter to coat then immediately roll through cinnamon sugar mixture several times.
- Place coated rolls on baking sheet (use aluminum foil for easy clean up and to avoid sticking)
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until roll-ups are golden brown.
- Sprinkle more cinnamon on the roll-ups and allow to cool. Enjoy!
Apple pie filling can be added to this recipe as well or substituted for the pumpkin pie filling.
